Microfinance Assists Entrepreneurs
The lack of a sustainable source of income particularly victimizes women and children. Microfinance is one of the best ways for families to escape poverty. For ambitious and entrepreneurial women, a market stall can provide the income needed to support and educate their families. Such an endeavor involves long days and hard work to ensure that fresh produce is available daily in a society that normally purchases daily. This is because electricity and refrigeration are expensive and often unreliable.
To date (2025), five women have received microfinance startup funds to open market stalls.
