Visit to Kumi
Visit to Kumi
A highlight of this year’s (2025) visit to Kumi, North-eastern Uganda, was a visit to the school as well as the medical camp being conducted near Kumi. Roger’s visit coincided with the Family Health Day being conducted in the area where he met Kumi Rotary president, Etiang David. who received a large number of reading glasses that were then handed to the doctor managing the eye care service portion of the Day

Wide-ranging services offered by medical personnel included -

A visit to the Doska Children's Home was on Roger's agenda. He met with staff and students and donated funds for the purchase of books and other school supplies. Some children in the community also benefited from gifts of clothing, small toys and bed-nets. The bed-nets are particularly valued because of the prevalence of malaria-carrying mosquitos. One handicapped boy received new crutches to replace the sticks he was "making do" with. This visit was particularly important a some of the children attending this school are sponsored by Roger or other Cornwall-area people.
