Hello dear Roger, Liz , the Rotary Club of Cornwall Sunrise, BBQ supporter's and everyone who has put a hand in Ugandan projects, especially Uganda Kumi.
I would like to appreciate each one of you for your generous contribution towards supporting the projects in Uganda that are always done by Roger who is one of the Rotarians in the Cornwall Sunrise. I have an update to give you and let you know what we have been able to do since the year began.
1. We have been able to open business for 3 young ladies to be able to support their families ie 2 dealing in clothing and 1 dealing in grocery store worth 5 Million Uganda shillings in total. This ladies have managed helping their families in various ways like education, medical, feeding and many more. They are very grateful for your support.
2. We also managed to give goats to 9 struggling families worth 9.000.000million Uganda shillings. ie each family received 5 goats consisting of 4 females and 1 male. These goats are aimed at helping them settle their family problems, the goats keep breeding and are sold when the number increases for solving problems at hand and the total number of families that have received the goats for the past 3 years is now 34. You have done a really great job.
3. We again helped pay for the vaccination of an old man who had a dog bite and required vaccination in Tororo hospital worth 900.000 Uganda shillings and he is now doing well. We appreciate you so much
4. We have also paid for education for the sponsored girl and also paid her medical fees over time because of her epilepsy condition which frequently attacks her and needs urgent attention. Thank you Roger for doing that
5. Also helped a 3 years old baby born with celebral palsey to go see a specialist doctor in Mbale cure hospital to find out if the condition can be handled unfortunately they advised to make a special chair for her to be able to sit on it on her own because she is just being carried all the time but with the help of the chair she can be put in it and will be able to sit on her own worth 650.000/- and the chairs cost is 760.000/-. We pray we shall be able to help this family a chair for this child before this year's end. We appreciate you for that.
6. We also got a wheelchair and beddings for an old lady who is handcapped in Ngora worth 360.000 Uganda shillings. Thank you very much.
7. Above all we also did an excellent job in providing washable sanitary towels to the rural adolescent girls where we donated over 500 pieces of sanitary towels and panties to both girls in school and women in villages. Many times girl children drop out of school due to lack of sanitaries when that time of the month comes due to fear of being a laughing stock by the males, women in villages also are so much affected when the time comes of menstruation where they use a piece of a Cotton cloth as sanitary whare causing a lot of chronic Urinary Track Infections (UTI) among others. This has enabled them prevent all this. We commend the Rotary club of Cornwall Sunrise for the donation and Job well-done.
We have also done a few small things to some people here and there which I have not put here.
Knowing that we are in a Time of financial instability, your support and donations is extra special to us
Thank you for your generous donation, we are thrilled to have your support. You truly make a difference for many people and we are extremely grateful.
