This Was a District Grant Project During Rotary Year 2024-25

The project aimed to improve employability by providing skills training for 100 young single mothers in the Kawempe Division of Kampala. The project utilized the Uganda Directorate of Industrial Training modular training resource materials and their assessment personnel for quality control. Tailoring, hair-styling, cookery, soap making and computer skills were offered with a life skills component incorporated into all skills programs. At least 15% will received job placements during the training.

A day care program was introduced to help ensure that the women attended and are were engaged in the training program. This part of the program sought to instill positive values, attitudes and life skills among the children as well as their mothers.
