Dear Club Presidents, Presidents-Elect and Secretaries,
I am happy to share that our 2026 Adventure in Environment will once again be running and is now in the final planning stages. Please share the following details with your Club’s Youth Programs Chair. Please feel free to contact me if you need clarification or have a question.
WHO?
- The 8 successful participants must be at least 16 years of age and have a minimum of 2 years of secondary school science
WHAT?
- Through a years-long partnership between the Rotary Club of Cornwall Sunrise and the River Institute https://riverinstitute.ca/, the program will involve four days of field biology and environmental science with the scientists of the Institute

WHERE?
- Cornwall, Ontario and area (i.e. Cooper Marsh, Bat Sites, St Lawrence River)
WHEN?
- Monday, September 14th until late afternoon, Thursday, September 17th
- Out-of-town participant arrival will be 4pm on Sunday, September 13th
- Most days run from 9am until 4pm, with one early morning meeting at 7am with our club, and one late night locating and observing bats with bat specialist, Dr Brian Hickey
HOW?
- Names of participating students and a cheque for the registration fee of $600 (made out to the Rotary Club of Cornwall Sunrise) must be submitted by the sponsoring clubs by Tuesday, June 30th
- If you are unable to find a participant or if your participant cancels, we will issue a full refund up until Friday, July 31st, 2026 only. After that, we will be unable to refund as financial commitments have been made based upon 8 participants.
- The Student Application must be submitted by the participants by Friday, July 17th.

- Participants will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, with a waiting list in case of emergency-only cancellations.
- Out-of-town participants will be hosted Rotary Club of Cornwall Sunrise families
